Machine Gun and Firearms Demonstration

Postponed

Hanson Rod & Gun Club Davis Road Hanson, Massachusetts

We at the Hanson Rod and Gun Club have elected to postpone our Annual Machine Gun Shoot and Demonstration for 2009. It was not an easy decision for the Club to make. However, due to legal questions pending before the courts here in Massachusetts, the club did not feel it prudent to put our community, spectators, vendors, or this organization, into a situation where there was a potential for legal consequences. Once these issues have been resolved before the courts, the Club hopes to reschedule this most popular event and continue our 18 year unblemished record of safe operation. Our event has become recognized by many as setting the standard for safety for this type of event amongst the shooting community.

In 1954, a small group of sportsmen and shooting enthusiasts founded the Hanson Rod and Gun Club in Hanson, Massachusetts. Over the years, this non-profit organization has grown into one of the South Shore's premier facilities. There is a lot more to our club's schedule of events than the Annual Machine Gun Shoot and Demonstration; we host numerous events in archery, fishing, pistol, riflery, shotgunning, and women's activities. In addition to hosting Hunter Education classes, we also provide monthly classes in Home Firearms Safety for members and non-members alike. A core mission of our club is to pass on the key elements of firearms safety and promote the conservation and proper management of our wildlife and their environments to the next generation of sportsmen and shooting enthusiasts. The Hanson Rod and Gun Club has been, and will continue to be, a proud and responsible member of our community.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
